Have you ever held your best friend in your arms as they took their last breath?
I have.
Cece was walking right in front of me. She was wearing a leash and harness and we walked into our building. A plumber had been working on the second floor that day and he left a wet spot in the carpet right by an electrical outlet. Cece stepped in the wet spot and was electrocuted almost immediately.
It felt like forever, but it was really only a few seconds until I was able to release her from her leash and harness and then she put out a final exhale and then she died. For the past four years, I've been working on bringing justice to this negligent act.
